About Dr. Dafna Trites
Dafna Trites, D.O, ABIHM, is a board certified expert in OB/GYN, a Diplomat of the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine, and has a B.A. in Psychology. Practicing in Los Angeles, California, she is an accomplished minimally invasive gynecological surgeon and acclaimed obstetrician. Dr. Trites’ signature approach to Women’s Wellness is centered on a compassionate, highly personalized, and holistic experience. She combines state-of-the-art education and clinical expertise, enhancing all stages of feminine health.
Practicing OB/GYN since 1999 in the San Fernando Valley, Dr. Trites has delighted in engaging with the world’s “everyday goddesses” in new and innovative ways, helping to evoke and uplift feminine divinity in an ever-expanding balance of mind, body, and spirit.
Dr. Trites strives to attain expertise in the most up to date medical procedures and surgical methods, while additionally balancing Western medical practices with encouragement of many complementary health-related modalities.
Dr. Trites initially practiced with Healthcare Partners from 1999-2005. She has enjoyed her private practice at the Women’s Healthcare Institute, Inc., from 2005 until now. Being able to provide the best care to patients, even if this includes a surgical option, has been Dr. Trites’ constant priority. Since 2011, Dr. Trites has been performing da Vinci Robotic assisted laparoscopic surgery, and has achieved designation in the community as a surgeon being able to accomplish particularly challenging cases. Additionally, Dr. Trites treats various urological and gynecologic conditions with the most minimally invasive techniques available.
In 2014, Dr. Trites was awarded as a Diplomat of the American Board of Holistic and Integrative Medicine. Having always had a particular interest in the many existing complementary health fields, Dr. Trites looks forward to further expansion of her healthcare offerings, and encourages openness with her patients regarding the many other modalities of healthcare available to us all.
Dr. Trites is also certified as a practitioner of the Whole Health Medicine Institute, led by Dr. Lissa Rankin, M.D., and based on the teachings of her book, Mind Over Medicine. During this 9-month intensive training in mind-body healing, she was privileged to learn from the most preeminent thought leaders in the field. Dr. Trites strives to incorporate these techniques and methods of empowering patients to heal themselves from chronic health conditions that conventional treatments and lifestyle changes have not solved. Achieving this distinction and officially becoming part of this highly recognized group of forward thinking physicians is one of Dr. Trites’ highest honors. Integrating her new Whole Health Medicine skills into her daily patient encounters has been truly inspiring!
Collaborating with the outstanding Dr. Lissa Rankin and the Whole Health Medicine Institute faculty, Dr. Trites has also advanced her enduring visionary passion as a national advocate for menopausal women. She is deeply committed to the menopausal woman’s fundamental right to receive unbiased education and choices of therapy. She is passionate about the elimination of menopausal-related political/medical/social discrimination and desires more media accountability in medical reporting.
Dr. Trites has served two separate 2-year terms as Chair of the Department of OB/GYN at Northridge Hospital Medical Center, (2008-2010, 2012-2014), and currently serves as the Vice-Chair. She enjoys public speaking, and has given numerous community-based lectures to medical staff as well as to the public.
As her patients can attest, Dr. Trites also is particularly interested in health-promoting dietary practices and education.
